JONSIE LOVES BANKSY

Jonsie and I (Banksy) were fed up with the traditional 9 to 5 hours, 5 days a week, 1 day to play and then one day of rest before heading back to work. 

Jon decided the best way to fix this undesirable quandary was to make our OWN hours. Over the years of shifts as a RN and midwife, I too decided I craved a better work life balance and more time with my babies.

Consequently in April 2014 UMINA BEACH KOKOMO was born.

Both only 29 at the time with 3 ( now 4 ) boys, we commenced building, renovating and landscaping an original set of holiday flats we had bought as our nest egg. Located only a 5 minute walk to the beach in the hidden gem of  SOUTH UMINA BEACH. 

We had some ever looming bank loans hanging over our heads, spent all our money on building materials and started putting in some hardcore hours.

We tested the waters with our 1 bd flat, renovated, designed and landscaped everything with our own two hands and terrifyingly placed our flat on airbnb.

‘The Swallowtail” was a success and over the years, we renovated, designed and landscaped 5 other spaces, including a vintage caravan.

Our biggest mission when we set up KOKOMO was to offer other people spaces to enjoy much needed quality time with loved ones,  prioritising rebalancing their lives. And that is still our biggest mission today.
